I participated in the 12th Annual Wet Dog Triathlon in Decatur, AL on July 16th. First of all, thank you Jesus for allowing me to have the health and ability to be able to participate and complete this event. This annual event is sponsored by The Decatur Jaycees and Big Brothers Big Sisters, it is held at the beautiful Point Mallard Water Park. The event was incredible and the men and women who organized this were outstanding. This was my third Triathlon and I completed this in honor and memory of my family whom I lost on 11-19-07. There were so many mixed emotions as I completed the swim, bike ride and run. God truly sustained me and allowed me to complete this race in one hour and twenty two minutes.
While in Decatur I had the pleasure of staying with my former teammate and dear friend Derrick Oden and his lovely wife Jill. Derrick filmed the event and they put together the two videos that I am going to share with you here. I truly appreciate all the support that Derrick and Jill gave to me that day by being there to cheer me on. It truly made such a difference having them by my side and I could not have completed this task without them.
just wanted Siran to know last years wet dog trianthlon in decatur ypu were my post to lean upon. Im 50yrs old and you were the one to beat and i barely beat you . yes this was my first and i like many of us have plenty of reasons to run . Thanks for inspiring me to run the race for christ and keep me a strong man for christs. Ilook forward to meeting you again keep in shape and lets both train better in the swimming area.
